Orland Park is a prominent south suburban community known for its outdoor activities, as well as shopping and food establishments. It is located 25 miles southwest of downtown Chicago and was named “45th Best Place to Live in America” by Money Magazine. Orland Park has an array of parks, restaurants and live entertainment venues that all serve to keep community life active.

Orland Park is approximately 25 miles southwest of Chicago.  Orland Park is located near several highways including the I-80 east-west coast connector. The metra train is available to Orland Park residents and there is also transportation to O'Hare and Midway airports.

History Top

The village of Orland Park started way back in 1834 when Henry Taylor became the area’s first settler. Other notable settlers included William Myrick, Jacob and Bernard Hostert. The railroad, which was known as the “Sedgewick Station” came into settlement in 1879 and soon after the train station was established as the Village’s Lake Sedgewick in Centrnnial Park.


Transportation Top

The Transportation Division of Public Works is responsible for operating the Pace Dial-A-Ride Paratransit Bus Service. This program is designed to serve the needs of all residents within Orland Park to destinations within the Village.

The Metrarail Southwest Service (SWS) provides three stops in Orland Park. The Orland Park 179th, Orland Park 153rd, and Orland Park 143rd.

Centennial Park, 15600 West Ave. is filled of fun and excitement for a great vacation area or just to relax for the day. Two piers for fishing, seven soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, pavilions, grills, horseshoe areas, nine baseball fields, walking and bike paths.
